HOW WE’RE DOING
OUR PROGRESS
The Calverley Adventure Grounds project has been running in its current form for 2 years. During that time, it has secured the backing of local residents, the Council and, through a number of fundraising activities, raised £225k. We are now in phase 3 of our journey – the build!
On 8th May 2017, our landscape contractor, Ground Control, arrived on site to start laying the foundations. Work is expected to be completed by end of August 2017. We hope to see the playground open by mid-late September. Check our Facebook page for regular updates.
Our Fundraising Efforts
We launched our fundraising campaign at the end of March 2016. After a phenomenal year of fundraising which included the Business Launch, Easter Eggstravaganza, Jam Jar Challenge, Dad Olympics, Black Tie Event, the Calverley Community Wall, the sale of special edition Katie Mullally Jewellery charms, a Curry Night, Santa’s Breakfast, Ceilidh, countless pop up stalls in The Grove and two magical Variety Performances at Assembly Hall Theatre, we reached our £225k target on 16th March 2017 which enabled Calverley Adventure Grounds to be created in full.
Thank you to the hundreds of people who have supported the Calverley Adventure Grounds fundraising campaign in so many different ways over the last 12 months.
In addition to residents, we had support from a number of local companies and organisations (including the fabulous Digi-nut who created this website) in terms of both time and money. TimberPlay, the manufacturer of equipment, donated two pieces of equipment.
Below is the map of Calverley Adventure Grounds which shows all the equipment included in the play space.

Volunteers
Hundreds of people volunteered their time in so many ways. As such, it is so hard to name every single person. We thank each and everyone of you who made the project become so much more than creating a playground and more about uniting a community.
